eJurnal yang memuat artikel hasil-hasil penelitian sering dijadikan sebagai referensi oleh mahasiswa dan para akademisi dalam menyusun suatu usulan atau pembuatan laporan akhir penelitian. Namun untuk memperoleh artikel dari jurnal tersebut dapat dikatakan gampang-gampang susah, terutama bagi sebagian kecil orang yang kurang memahami cara penelusuran artikel serta diharuskannya mengeluarkan biaya untuk membeli jurnal. Beberapa situs menyediakan sejumlah jurnal gratis bersyarat, seperti DIRECTORY OF OPEN ACCESS JOURNALS (DOAJ), NONPROFIT JOURNALS GROUP dan  HIGHWIRE yang menyediakan artikel gratis dari beberapa jurnal yang dapat diunduh beberapa bulan setelah terbit. Tidak banyak jurnal yang tersedia secara gratis untuk bidang peternakan. Beberapa situs jurnal baik yang berbayar maupun yang gratisan yang terkait dengan peternakan, seperti:
